The professional "Registan" group consisting of masterly musicians and the lady singer was organized in 2005. The organizer and artistic leader of the group is Assistant - Professor of the State Conservatory of Uzbe-kistan, the prize - winner of the Republican contests, the performer of "Dutar Bas" and "Ud" musical instruments - Mr. Zulkhorbek Turapov.

    The talented and highly professional musicians: Mr. Komiljon Shermatov (сhang, кanun) - the Honored Artist of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the prize-winner of the  Republican contests,   Mr. Utkur Qodirov (gijjak, sato) - the owner of Grand-prize of the Republican contest of Makom performers, Mrs. Nazira Tursunova (rubab prima) - the prize-winner of the  Republican contests, Mr. Elmurod Shokhakimov (doyra, percussion instruments) - the prize-winner of the Republican contest,  Mr. Davron Shermetov (surnay, koshnay, вulamon) and Mrs. Mohichehra Shomurodova - the singer with unique voice, the owner of the State prize named after Zulfiya are activating in "Registan"group.

   In the performing programme of the group it pays a big attention to engage in propaganda of Uzbek music and composers' creation, music of people of the world. The original method of interpretation of musical works is used by musicians directed to opening of the national coloring and characteristic peculiarities of music.

   The musicians of "Registan" group have demonstrated their performing Art in Japan, Belgium, Holland, Austria, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania and Egypt also in different countries of the world, they have obtained highly scores and successes.

   The main purpose and tasks of the "Registan" group's performers are to attract the audience to artistic matter of music, pass the specific peculiarities of Uzbek music, demonstrate the performing Art and show the unsurpassed mastery of the performance and the Art of the improvisation, open the unique originality of the national musical instruments and their performing possibilities.

   Group published 3 CD albums:

CD 1, 2005;

CD 2, 2007;

CD 3, 2009. Supported by the Swiss Cooperation Office in Uzbekistan.

   The "REGISTAN" group have taken part in a lot of world and republican measures, including:

2009 - at the International music Festival "MUSICAL TRAVELING THROUGH THE GREAT SILK ROAD" (Japan);

2008 at the International music Festival Egypt;

2008 at the International project (Lithuania);

2008 at the International project (Latvia);

2008 - at the International project "Dala Duman" (Kazakhstan);

2007 - at the International FORUM - FESTIVAL "THE GREAT SILK ROUTE: yesterday, today, tomorrow" (Uzbekistan);

2006 - at the International project "ADAM KLIPPLE (piano, organ, keyboards) (USA) and "REGISTAN" group (ud, kanun, g'ijjak, doira)" (Tashkent);

2006 - at the Second International master classes of "Omnibus Laboratorium " for the young composers with ensemble "Omnibus" (Tashkent);

2006 - at the International Festival "HOLLEN-FAHRT WIENER MOZARTJAHR 2006" (Austria);

2006 - at the International Fair (Holland);

2006 - at the reception organized by the Uzbekistan Embassy in Kingdom of Belgium devoted "To 125 years of Uzbek photo" (Belgium);

2005 - at the First International Music Fair "OSWMF 2005" during the International Festival "Sharq Tarona-lari" (Samarkand);

2005 - at the Fund Forum presentation devoted to "125 years of Uzbek photo" during the foremost International Festival "Sharq Taronalari" (Samarkand).

ZULKHORBEK TURAPOV
(dutar bass, ud)

Born in 1966;

Since 2002 year till present time he is an assistant professor of "Folk instruments" Department at the State Conservatoire of Uzbekistan, he is also a dean of "Eastern music" faculty;

1996-1998, a postgraduate at the Tashkent State Conservatoire named after M.Ashrafiy;

1992-2006, a soloist of the chamber orchestra of folk instruments "Sogdiana";

1992-2002, soloist of the folk instruments orchestra named after D. Zakirov based at the UzTV and Radio Company;

1992-Laureate of the 6 th Republican Contest of young performers on the folk instruments (First prize);

1985-1992, a student at the Tashkent State Conservatoire named after M. Ashrafiy;

1984-Holder of the Prize of the 4 th Republican Contest of young performers on the folk instruments;

1979-1985, a pupil of music boarding school named after R. Glier;

    Zulhorbek Turapov, as a musician - performer of the chamber orchestra "Sogdiana" had taken part in the International projects in USA (2002), France (1998), Egypt (1997,1998), Spain (1996), Germany (1995,1996,1999), Russia (1994), Kazakhstan (1994) also he is a participant of International projects in Uzbekistan with musicians from India, Korea, Japan, Great Britain and USA.

KOMILJON SHERMATOV
(chang, kanun)

Born in 1964;

Since 2005 up to present time he is working as a senior teacher of "Folk instruments" Department at the State Conservatoire of Uzbekistan;

In 2004 he was awarded the title of the Honored Artist of Uzbekistan;

1999-2006, a soloist of high category of the chamber orchestra of folk instruments "Sogdiana";

1988-2000, an artist of folk instruments orchestra named after D.Zakirov under UzTV and Radio Company;

1988 - Laureate of the 5 th Republican Contest of young performers on the folk instruments (First prize);

1983-1988, a student at the Tashkent State Conservatoire named after M.Ashrafiy;

1979-1983, a pupil of Music College named after H.H.Hamza;

He visited such countries like Italy (1999), Germany (1997), Pakistan (1992); 

    Komiljon Shermatov, as a musician - performer of the chamber orchestra "Sogdiana" had taken part in the International projects in USA (2002), Germany (1999), also he is a participant of nternational projects in Uzbekistan with musicians from India, Korea, Japan, Great Britain and USA.

UTKUR KODIROV
(gidjak, sato)

Born in 1964;

International Contest of Makom performers named after Y.Rajabiy (Grand prize);

Since 1993 he is a senior teacher of the "Traditional performing";

1989-1993, an artist of Uzbekistan State Philarmony named after Q. Yakubov;

1987-1989, a teacher of music college named after Hamza;

1983-1988, a student at the Tashkent State Conservatoire named after M.Ashrafiy;

1979-1983, a pupil of Music College named after Hamza;

Utkur Kodirov visited such countries like Thailand (2002), Italy (1999), England (1998), France (1998), South Korea (1994), Holland (1997), Israel (1996), Turkey (1991,1994,1996). India (1991), и (1990, 2000, 2004), Czechoslovakia (1988), Yugoslavia (1987).

NAZIRA TURSUNOVA

Born in 1968;

Since 2009 she is a teacher of the Tashkent college of culture;

1991-2006, a soloist of the chamber orchestra of folk instruments "Sogdiana";

1988-1994, soloist of the folk instruments orchestra named after T.Djalilov;

1992-Laureate of the 6 th Republican Contest of young performers on the folk instruments (First prize);

1988-1993, a student at the Tashkent State Conservatoire named after M. Ashrafiy;

Born in 1987;

Since 2006 he is a student of "Eastern music" faculty of the State Conservatory Uzbekistan; Since 2006 up to present time he is a teacher of the music school named after T.Sodiqov;

2005 - Laureate of the Republican Contest of young performers on the folk instruments (first prize);

2003-2006 a pupil of Music College named after Hamza:

2001 - Laureate of the Republican Contest of "Zarb-2006" named after T.Inoghomov;

Elmurod Shohakimov, as a musician - performer of the "Registan" group had taken part in the International projects in Kazakhstan (2007), Latvia (2008), Lithuania (2008), Japan (2009).

DAVRONBEK SHERMETOV
(surnay, kushnay, bulamon)

Born in 1983;

1998-2003, a pupil of Music College named after F.Harratov;

Since 2007 he is a student of "Eastern music" faculty of the State Conservatory Uzbekistan.

MOHICHEHRA SHOMURODOVA
(singer, kayrak)

Born in 1988;

2003, a pupil of Music College in Bukhara;

2005 - Laureate of the 1st Republican Contest of the young "Makom" performers (first prize);

2006 - the owner of the State prize named after Zulfiya;

Since 2006 she is a student of "Eastern music" faculty of the State Conservatory Uzbekistan.
